About
Who We Are And How We Work
ODC is a state of the art dental laboratory located along the highway in West Kelowna.
Our friendly team of 6 dental technicians work every day to produce beautiful crown- and bridgework.
Within the team there’s a planning department, a design department, a plaster/printing department, a milling department, and a ceramic department.
Every technician works (or can work) on at least 2 departments, which has created a very efficient workflow where everyone has a good understanding of what is needed to create the best product.
The great atmosphere within the team is the reason ODC stands out in quality, speed and service.
ODC has all the latest software, equipment and materials, but it is still the people who make the difference!
Okanagan Dental Ceramics was created in 2021 when 2 dental labs in the Okanagan merged.
Both labs very modern and well equipped, but using very different software’s and workflow.
After merging we used all this knowledge and different equipment to serve our clients with an extended variety of product choises.(Implant brands, Intra oral scanners and materials).

History

At the age of 19, Walter relocated from his hometown of Zwolle, Netherlands, to Cannes, France, where he began working as a student dental technician. Simultaneously, he pursued an apprenticeship in Carros.
Upon returning to the Netherlands, he specialized in the ceramic department and completed his studies at the dental technician academy, focusing on crown-and-bridgework and implants.
Within a year, he established a full-service dental lab in Alkmaar, which grew to a 20-person team over the course of nine years. During this time, he was actively involved in the development of dental design software and testing zirconia materials, contributing to the advancement of CAD-CAM technology.
In 2007, Walter sold his dental lab to 4Dental, continuing to manage three locations—Alkmaar, Volendam, and Amsterdam.
In 2010, Walter and his family relocated to Rose Valley, West Kelowna. As the first certified 3Shape trainer in Canada, he began working at Kastle Mills (now Argen Canada).
Prior to founding Okanagan Dental Ceramics, Walter spent 10 years operating as a one-man lab, always innovating in dental design and CAD-CAM while maintaining strong hands-on expertise.
